Tender meat and potatoes take on new flavors with sweet sauteed onions and warm seven spices.

Serves: 8 cups
  • 1 lb. ground beef or lamb
  • [1/4] cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 large chopped yellow onion
  • 5 peeled and cubed large potatoes
  • 1[1/2] tsp. salt
  • 1 TB. seven spices
  • [1/2] tsp. ground black pepper
  1. In a large, 3-quart pot over medium heat, brown beef for 5 minutes, breaking up chunks with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add extra-virgin olive oil and yellow onion, and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Toss in potatoes, salt, seven spices, and black pepper. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. Toss gently, and cook for 10 more minutes.
  4. Serve warm with a side of Greek yogurt.
Tasty Tip
Be gentle when tossing the potatoes—you don't want them to turn to mush. Try using a metal spoon to gently toss them in the pan.
