This simple and easy dessert features crunchy puff pastry filled with oozing sweet figs and mascarpone cheese.

Serves: 6 fig puffs
Ingredients
  • 12 dried figs, chopped
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 8 oz. mascarpone cheese
  • [1/2] tsp. ground nutmeg
  • [1/2] tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 TB. honey
  • 6 (4x4-in.) pieces puff pastry
  • [1/4] cup whole milk
  • 2 TB. sugar
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine figs and hot water. Let sit for 20 minutes. Drain any excess water from figs.
  2. To figs, add mascarpone cheese, nutmeg, cinnamon, and honey, and stir to combine.
  3. Lay out 1 piece of puff pastry, spoon 2 tablespoons fig mixture into center of puff pastry, and fold over one corner of pastry to the opposite corner, forming a triangle. Using a fork, press down along the side to seal pastry. Repeat with remaining pastry sheets and fig mixture.
  4. Place pastries on a baking sheet, brush with whole milk, and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Let pastries cool for 10 minutes before serving.
