  • 1/2] tsp. ground black pepper
  • [1/2] tsp. seven spices

  • [1/2] cup pine nuts
  • 1 batchTraditional Hummus
  • [1/2] tsp. paprika
  • 2 TB. fresh parsley, chopped
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, brown ground beef and salt for about 5 minutes, breaking up chunks with a wooden spoon.
  2. Stir in black pepper and seven spices, and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  3. In another small saucepan over low heat, heat extra-virgin olive oil. Add pine nuts, and cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from heat.
  4. Spread Traditional Hummus to [1/2] inch thickness on a serving plate, and sprinkle with paprika. Evenly spoon meat over center of hummus, evenly top beef with toasted pine nuts, and sprinkle with parsley.
  5. Serve warm or at room temperature with pita bread or pita chips.
Tasty Tip
If you're trying to incorporate more fiber and protein into your diet, this is the perfect recipe to do just that. The addition of meat and pine nuts in the hummus boosts the amount of both.
