Kefta Kabob
Recipe type: Beef and Lamb Dinners
Serves: 4 kabobs
- [1/2] large yellow onion, chopped
- [1/2] cup fresh Italian parsley
- [3/4] lb. ground beef
- [1/4] lb. ground lamb
- 1 tsp. salt
- [1/2] tsp. ground black pepper
- [1/2] tsp. ground nutmeg
- [1/2] tsp. seven spices
- Preheat a grill to medium heat.
- In a food processor fitted with a chopping blade, pulse yellow onion and Italian parsley for 30 seconds.
- In a medium bowl, combine onion-parsley mixture, beef, lamb, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and seven spices. Form mixture into 4 (6-inch) kabobs.
- Grill kabobs, turning them over every 2 minutes, to cook on all sides.
- Serve warm with hummus and pita bread.
Tasty Tip
Many people don't like lamb. If you don't like it, you can omit the lamb and use 1 pound ground beef instead. (Although in this recipe, you really can't taste the lamb; it makes the kabob juicier.)
