This thick and rich, cake has a nice, nutty flavor thanks to the farina and semolina. Soaked with Simple Syrup, it's sweet, sticky, and delicious.

Serves: 1 (9*13-inch) cake; 15 pieces
Ingredients
2 cupsfarina
[1/2] cupsemolina
[1/2] cupall-purpose flour
1 TB.baking powder
1 tsp. active dry yeast
[1/2] cupsugar
[1/2] plain Greek yogurt
1 cupwhole milk
[3/4] cupbutter, melted
[1/4] cupwater
2 TB.tahini paste
15almonds
2 cupsSimple Syrup (recipe in Chapter 22)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine farina, semolina, all-purpose flour, baking powder, yeast, sugar, Greek yogurt, whole milk, butter, and water. Set aside for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
Spread tahini paste evenly in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan, and pour in cake batter. Arrange almonds on top of batter, about where each slice will be. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove cake from the oven, and using a toothpick, poke holes throughout cake for Simple Syrup to seep into. Pour syrup over cake, and let cake sit for 1 hour to absorb syrup.
Cool cake completely before cutting and serving.

Definition Farina is a cereal food made from semolina, which is the by-product of the milling of durum wheat. Both are used to make baked goods, pastas, and cereal. They have a nutty flavor and add a nice texture to this cake.
